Ainda assim a empresa decidiu investir em capacidade de gest\u00e3o e tratamento de \u00e1gua, upgrades e manuten\u00e7\u00e3o e planos de emerg\u00eancia e treinamento. A Norsk Hydro tamb\u00e9m quer fortalecer o engajamento com a comunidade local. No primeiro caso, os investimentos previstos s\u00e3o da ordem de R$ 200 milh\u00f5es no sistema de tratamento de \u00e1gua da refinaria, aumentando a capacidade em 50% e a capacidade de armazenamento em 150%. No plano social, a princial iniciativa \u00e9 o programa Barcarena Sustent\u00e1vel, que compreende o financiamento a entidade legal independente, com sua pr\u00f3pria rganiza\u00e7\u00e3o e pessoal, projetos sociais e ambientais e parcerias com comunidades, universidades, autoridades, sindicatos e organiza\u00e7\u00f5es relevantes. Tamb\u00e9m h\u00e1 o compromisso de garantir acesso \u00e0 \u00e1gua limpa Burajuba, Bom Futuro e Vila Nova e oferecer assist\u00eancia m\u00e9dica e distribuindo \u00e1gua para cerca de 1.800
